HomeHero

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 10, 2026
Effective Date: September 29, 2026 (applies to HomeHero 2.7 and later)

The short version

Who we are

HomeHero is made by Karol Jaworski ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the HomeHero app (the "App") collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

Information we collect

What you enter

Collected automatically

What stays on your phone

Settings, reminder schedules and a copy of your household are stored on your device. A small record (which household, its code, and which member this phone belongs to) is kept in your device keychain so the App can offer "Welcome back" after a reinstall; if you use iCloud Keychain, Apple syncs it to your other devices end-to-end encrypted.

What we don't collect

No location, contacts, advertising identifier, browsing history, or crash-reporting SDKs. There is no advertising in the App.

How we use it

Who can see your data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Purchases and Refund Requests

Purchases in HomeHero are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to keep track of your subscription status; RevenueCat receives the purchase records Apple provides and an app user ID, never your name or what you enter about your household. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

If you ask Apple for a refund of a purchase made in HomeHero, Apple may ask us for information about that purchase. By making a purchase, you consent to us (through RevenueCat) sharing the following with Apple for that request: how long you have had the app, how much of the purchased period has been used, whether the purchase was delivered, and the total amount you have spent and been refunded in HomeHero. We may also tell Apple whether we think the refund should be granted. Apple makes the final decision. We never share your household's data.

Children

HomeHero is a family app. Kids' profiles are created by a grown-up in the household and contain only a first name or nickname, an avatar emoji, and the chores and points logged for them — plus photos only if the family uses photo proof. Kids can play on a grown-up's phone in Kid Mode, which hides settings and purchases. Grown-ups can edit or remove a kid's profile at any time, and can delete all household data from the App. We do not market to children and do not knowingly collect anything else from them. Parents or guardians can also contact us to review or delete a child's information.

Keeping and deleting data

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our database provider. Every household is protected by access rules so that only its members' phones can read or change it, photo storage can't be browsed or listed, and invite-code guessing is rate-limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Most of this you can do yourself in the App (edit names, remove entries, leave, delete the household). For anything else, email us.

EEA/UK (GDPR): we process household data to provide the service you asked for (contract) and to keep it secure (legitimate interests). You can complain to your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA): we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and you won't be treated differently for exercising your rights.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the App.
