Steep is made by Karol Jaworski ("we"). This policy explains what leaves your device when you use Steep, who receives it and why. Questions: karoljaworsky@gmail.com.
What you enter in Steep is stored on your device.
Some features in Steep use artificial intelligence. When you use one, your request - the text you type and the Steep information needed to answer it, such as your entries and statistics - is sent to xAI (Grok) to generate the answer. This happens only when you use an AI feature.
Requests pass through our server, hosted on Cloudflare, which forwards them without storing their content. We don't add your Apple ID or email address to these requests, and we don't keep copies of them. The provider processes each request under its own privacy policy: xAI (Grok). Please don't enter information you wouldn't want to share with the AI provider.
We process this to provide the feature you asked for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives the app an anonymous identifier and, only if you choose to share them, your name and email address. They stay on your device (and in your iCloud if sync is on); we don't run an account server.
Steep contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Steep is not directed at children under 13.
You can delete the data on your device by deleting the app. If you are in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct, delete and move your data, to object to its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email karoljaworsky@gmail.com.
We update this page whenever what Steep sends changes; the date at the top shows the current version.
