- Account Information: When you sign in with Apple ID, we may receive your name and email address
- Child Information: Names, birthdates, and optional photos of children you add to track expenses
- Expense Data: Financial information you enter, including amounts, categories, dates, notes, and receipt photos
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version
- Usage Data: App usage patterns, feature interactions, crash reports
- Local Storage: All expense data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Personalize your experience with custom categories and insights
- Generate spending analytics and AI-powered insights (Premium feature)
- Process subscription payments through Apple's App Store
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
All your expense data, child information, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This means:
- Your financial data never leaves your device
- We cannot access your expense information
- Data is protected by your device's security measures (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode)
4.2 Cloud Sync (Premium Feature)
Premium subscribers can enable iCloud sync, which:
- Uses Apple's secure iCloud infrastructure
- Encrypts data in transit and at rest
- Is controlled entirely by Apple's privacy policies
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Apple Services
- Sign in with Apple: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- App Store & In-App Purchases: Subscription management through Apple
- iCloud: Optional data sync for Premium users
5.2 Analytics
We may use anonymized analytics to improve app performance, but no personal or financial data is included in these reports.
6. Children's Privacy
KidSpend is designed for parents to track their children's expenses. We do not:
- Collect information directly from children
- Require children to create accounts
- Share children's information with third parties
- Use children's information for marketing purposes
7. Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained until you delete the app or manually delete data
- Account Information: Retained while your Apple ID is connected
- Support Communications: Retained for 2 years for quality assurance
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in the app
- Delete: Remove individual expenses, children, or all data
- Export: Export your data in CSV format (Premium feature)
- Account Deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
9. International Data Transfers
Since data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, there are no international data transfers by KidSpend.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Providing in-app notifications for significant changes
