Subscription Terms
Effective Date: February 7, 2026
This document outlines the subscription plans, pricing, billing, and cancellation policies for Butter+ premium subscriptions. By subscribing to Butter+, you agree to these terms in addition to our Terms of Service.

3. Billing
- All subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and processed via your Apple ID.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Prices are displayed in your local currency. Prices in currencies other than USD may vary due to exchange rates and local taxes.
- We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
4. Auto-Renewal
All Butter+ subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
- Monthly plans renew every month on the same date you originally subscribed.
- Yearly plans renew every 12 months on the same date you originally subscribed.
- Promotional plans (Butter+ Yearly Promo) renew at the standard yearly rate of $39.99/year after the promotional period ends.
5. How to Cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will continue to have access to Butter+ features until then.
To cancel your subscription:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name (Apple ID) at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find and tap Butter+.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Alternatively, you can manage subscriptions through the App Store app or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Note: Deleting the Butter app does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through your Apple ID settings to stop future charges.
6. Refunds
Since all purchases are processed through Apple, refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple. To request a refund:
Refund eligibility and approval are at Apple's sole discretion, in accordance with Apple's refund policies. We are unable to process refunds directly.
7. Free Trial
From time to time, we may offer free trial periods for Butter+ subscriptions. If a free trial is offered:
- The trial period and its duration will be clearly stated before you subscribe.
- You will not be charged during the trial period.
- At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
8. Changes to Pricing
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. If we change pricing:
- Existing subscribers will be notified in advance of any price changes.
- Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period after the change.
- Apple may notify you of price changes and require you to agree to the new price before your subscription renews.
- If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
9. Downgrading
If you cancel your Butter+ subscription or it expires, your account will revert to the free tier at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to recipes previously generated, but new recipe generation will be limited to 5 per week, and premium features (meal planning, cooking analytics) will no longer be available.
