Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Butter mobile application ("App") operated by Karol Jaworski ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
By accessing or using Butter, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Subscription Terms. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the App.
Butter is a weekly dinner planner for people who work all day. It uses artificial intelligence (specifically, Grok by xAI) to plan a set of dinners for the nights your household cooks, based on the settings you choose: who eats with you, your cooking nights and dinner time, your diet and ingredients to avoid, your kitchen equipment, your budget, your store and country, and the staples you always have. Your household is described to the AI by counts and children's ages, never by name. The App provides:
Butter has no accounts and no sign-in. Each installation of the App has a random ID and is verified with Apple's App Attest service, which confirms that requests come from the genuine App on a real device. How this information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
Each household's first week is free and complete, including the cooking screen, household sharing, breakfasts, and lunchboxes, with two swaps and three fills for nights the planner left empty. After that, planning a new week or swapping a night requires Butter+. Everything already planned stays usable. Free-tier features may be modified at our discretion.
Butter+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription with monthly and yearly plans. One subscription covers everyone in the household: if anyone in your household has an active Butter+ subscription, the whole household has Butter+. Butter+ is subject to fair use of up to three new weeks and thirty swaps per household per day. Subscription plans, pricing, and detailed terms are described in our Subscription Terms.
All subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions).
All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment or financial information. Pricing is displayed in your local currency and may vary by region; the App Store shows the price before you confirm a purchase.
Butter does not provide medical or nutritional advice. AI-generated recipes may contain inaccuracies regarding nutritional content, allergen information, cooking times, or cooking safety. You should:
While we strive to plan practical, good-quality dinners, AI-generated content may occasionally include errors, unusual ingredient combinations, wrong quantities or timings, or impractical instructions. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any recipe, cooking time, or nutrition estimate.
Butter lets you set a diet and ingredients to avoid, and the planner is told to avoid them. However, the AI can make mistakes: a recipe may still include an ingredient you asked it to avoid, or an ingredient that contains or may contain an allergen. Always review every recipe and check product labels before preparing food, especially if anyone you cook for has a food allergy or intolerance. Do not rely on Butter as your only safeguard against allergens.
The App, including its design, code, graphics, user interface, and original content, is the property of Karol Jaworski and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
Recipes generated by the AI are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You are free to cook, share, and modify any recipes generated for you. We do not claim ownership of the specific recipes generated for you, but we retain rights to the underlying technology and systems that produce them.
Any content you provide to the App (your household details, preferences, settings, etc.) remains your property. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to use this information to provide our services, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Karol Jaworski from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of a third party.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device, which removes the settings, week, and shopping list stored on it. If you share a household, you can leave it in the App first; a household and everything it shared are deleted from our server when the last person leaves. You may ask us to delete any data our server holds about your installation or household by contacting us at karoljaworsky@gmail.com. Deleting the App does not cancel a Butter+ subscription; cancel it through your Apple ID settings.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include violation of these Terms, abuse of the service, or fraudulent activity.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Locally stored data will remain on your device until you delete the App. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) shall survive.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if that fails, through the courts of competent jurisdiction in Poland.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, EULA, and Subscription Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Karol Jaworski regarding the use of the App.
