Welcome to TaskClan! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TaskClan mobile application and related services. By using TaskClan, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the TaskClan app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use our service.

Age Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• Children under 13 may use the app under parental supervision
• Parents are responsible for their children's use of the app
• Family accounts require at least one adult (18+) as the primary account holder

2. Description of Service

TaskClan is a family task management application that helps families:

• Track and manage household chores and tasks
• Gamify family responsibilities with XP and achievements
• Create family competitions and duels
• Manage family rewards and incentives
• Monitor family productivity and progress

Free vs. Premium Features

TaskClan offers both free and premium features:

• Free: Up to 3 family members, 5 tasks per day, 3 duels per week
• Premium: Unlimited family members, tasks, duels, plus advanced analytics

3. User Responsibilities

Account Security

• Keep your account information secure and confidential
• Use Sign in with Apple for enhanced security
• Don't share your account with others outside your family
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Appropriate Use

• Use TaskClan only for legitimate family task management
• Don't upload inappropriate or offensive content
• Respect other family members' privacy and data
• Don't attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or abuse the service

Content Guidelines

• Task names and notes should be family-appropriate
• Photo evidence (Premium) must be relevant to tasks
• No illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Respect intellectual property rights

4. Premium Subscriptions

Subscription Plans

• Weekly: $1.99 per week with 7-day free trial
• Monthly: $4.99 per month with 7-day free trial
• Yearly: $29.99 per year with 7-day free trial
• Lifetime: $49.99 one-time payment

Billing and Cancellation

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
• Auto-renewal can be disabled in your Apple ID settings
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
• No refunds for partial subscription periods
• Premium features remain active until subscription expires

5. Privacy and Data

Data Ownership

• You own all your family's data entered into TaskClan
• Data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
• We don't access or use your personal family information
• You can export or delete your data at any time

Data Protection

• We implement industry-standard security measures
• Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
• No third-party access without your explicit consent
• Regular security audits and updates

6. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

• TaskClan app, design, and features are our intellectual property
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our app
• Our trademarks and logos are protected
• All app content is copyrighted

Your Rights

• You retain ownership of all content you create
• You grant us license to process your data for app functionality
• You can request data deletion at any time
• Your family's task and activity data belongs to you

7. Service Availability

Uptime and Maintenance

• We strive for 99.9% app availability
• Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
• Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
• Local data remains accessible even during service issues

Updates and Changes

• We regularly update TaskClan with new features
• Updates may change app functionality
• Critical security updates are automatic
• Major changes will be communicated to users

8. Prohibited Activities

• Attempting to hack or compromise the app
• Using the app for illegal activities
• Sharing inappropriate content
• Violating other users' privacy
• Creating multiple accounts to bypass limitations
• Reverse engineering or copying our code
• Using automated tools or bots
• Interfering with other families' data

9. Termination

Your Right to Terminate

• You can delete your account at any time
• All family data will be permanently removed
• Active subscriptions will be cancelled
• No refunds for remaining subscription time

Our Right to Terminate

• We may suspend accounts for Terms violations
• Serious violations may result in permanent bans
• We'll provide notice when possible
• You can appeal termination decisions

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Disclaimer

• TaskClan is provided "as is" without warranties
• We don't guarantee uninterrupted service
• Results may vary based on family usage
• We're not responsible for family disputes

Limitation of Liability

• Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for subscriptions
• We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• Family disputes or issues are not our responsibility
• Data loss due to device issues is not our liability

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where our company is incorporated. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

• We'll notify you through the app
• Updated Terms will be posted on our website
• Continued use constitutes acceptance
• Significant changes may require explicit agreement
